Video that is made for where it will run
Most video problems are planning problems. A beautiful brand film fails when it only exists in a 16:9 master and the budget is spent on Instagram. A great social clip fails on a lobby screen with the sound off. We start every project with one question: where will people actually watch this?
That answer shapes the shoot. We frame for vertical and horizontal at the same time, capture the b-roll a social editor needs, record clean audio for captions and plan the aerial shots that make an opening frame worth stopping for. You leave one shoot day with the hero edit and the cutdowns, not a second invoice for “social versions.”
What a Detroit crew changes
Shooting here is its own skill. Downtown light bounces off glass towers and falls off fast in winter. Parts of the riverfront sit under airport airspace and beside an international border. City permits, private plazas and conservancy-managed parks each have their own rules and lead times. We handle those details every week, which is why our schedules hold. Our film permit guide lays out how it works.
We also know the audience. Our own channels publish to more than 245,000 followers and reach about 46 million views a year. When we recommend a hook, a length or a posting window, it comes from what we see in this market, not from national averages.
How we keep projects on budget
- Fixed quotes. Scope, deliverables, crew and shoot days are listed line by line. You approve the number before we book anyone.
- Defined revisions. Two rounds of edit revisions are included. A revision is a change to the approved cut, not a new concept, and that is written down.
- One on-set approver. You name one decision-maker for the shoot day. That single choice saves more money than any gear decision.
- Change orders in writing. If the scope grows, you see the cost before we do the work.
Formats we deliver
Every project ends with organized, labeled files: a master in 16:9, vertical 9:16 versions for Reels, TikTok and Shorts, and 4:5 or 1:1 when your ads or feed need them. Broadcast and streaming spots are finished to the loudness and file specs your placement requires. Captions are burned in for social and supplied as separate files for accessibility.
When you may not need us
If you need a quick clip for tomorrow’s post, your phone and a steady hand may be the right tool. We are the right call when the video has a job to do: sell out a launch, lease a building, fill a room, or represent your brand for the next year. Not sure which you need? Read our video production cost guide or send us the details.
