What we do

What’s included

Every project is scoped to what you need. These are the pieces we deliver most often.

Superintendent walkthroughs

A short, conversational tour of a finished or nearly finished project, led by the person who built it, with footage of the work cut in. See our walkthrough planning guide.

Project completion films

The finished building, the hard parts of the job and the people behind it, for the website, proposals and award entries.

Recruiting video

Crew members on camera talking about the work, for careers pages and job posts. For ongoing recruiting and social content, see construction marketing.

Proposal and interview video

Short project and team videos for RFQ responses and shortlist interviews, when a slide deck is not enough.

Aerials on the same visit

Drone footage of the site and its surroundings from FAA Part 107 certified pilots. See construction drone photography.

RAW Digital Group produces construction video in Detroit and across Michigan: superintendent-led project walkthroughs, completion films, proposal and recruiting video for general contractors and trades, with drone aerials from FAA Part 107 certified pilots on the same visit. Every project is quoted by scope.

Updated

Video that shows how the work got done

A finished building photographs well, but a photo cannot explain why the job was hard, how the team solved it or who to call for the next one. Contractors win work on trust, and a short video of the person who ran the job walking through it builds that trust faster than a project sheet. We produce that video, plus the completion films and proposal videos that come out of the same site visits.

The superintendent walkthrough

The format that works best for most contractors is simple: the superintendent or project manager walks the finished space and talks about it the way they would to an owner. What the building is for, what was difficult, what they are proud of. We plan the talking points with them ahead of time, film in short sections as they walk, and cut in close-ups of the details they mention. The result feels like a conversation, not an ad, which is what performs on LinkedIn. Our walkthrough planning guide covers permissions, the shot list and audio on a noisy site.

Shooting on an active site

Construction sites have rules for a reason. Our crew completes your orientation, wears your required PPE and works inside the windows your superintendent sets. We put wireless microphones on whoever is speaking so the audio holds up next to equipment, and we plan drone flights around cranes, crews and FAA airspace, with authorization filed where the site needs it.

Captioned for the way it gets watched

Most construction video gets watched on a phone with the sound off, so every cut gets burned-in captions. The main edit runs a few minutes for the website and proposals, with short vertical and square cutdowns for LinkedIn and Instagram. For an ongoing program of progress aerials and monthly social posts, see construction marketing.

Construction work we have done

We edited and published Barton Malow’s “Building Detroit’s Icons” reel from footage their video team captured, and we have flown our own aerials of the Gordie Howe International Bridge going up and a Greektown construction site from directly overhead. For ongoing progress documentation, see construction drone photography and construction marketing.

Tell us about the project, who will be on camera and where the video will run. We send rates and a scope for your project.

Our team follows up with rates.

  • A Metro Detroit gym opening drew more than 1,000 guest-pass sign-ups.
  • A Shinola limited timepiece campaign sold out within hours.
  • A short-form campaign for a stable less than an hour from Detroit passed 450,000 views.
Sean, Paige and co. were always on-point, professional, and timely. Our video was gorgeous. It did an awesome job of presenting our company and building our brand.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

What is a construction project walkthrough video?
It is a short video, usually two to five minutes with cutdowns under a minute for social, in which a superintendent or project manager walks through a completed project and explains the construction, the key features and the hard parts of the job, with footage of the work cut in. RAW Digital Group films and edits them for LinkedIn, the website and proposals.
Our superintendent is not comfortable on camera. Does that work?
Yes, and it usually reads better than a script. RAW Digital Group plans the talking points with them beforehand, films in short sections while they walk and point at the work, and asks follow-up questions off camera, so the final cut sounds like a person explaining their job.
How do you film safely on an active construction site?
RAW Digital Group's crew completes your site orientation, wears the PPE you require, works inside the access windows your superintendent sets and stays out of active work zones. Drone flights are planned around cranes, crews and FAA airspace rules, with LAANC authorization where the site needs it.
What is the difference between construction video production and construction marketing?
RAW Digital Group's construction video production covers filmed, people-on-camera pieces: walkthroughs, completion films and proposal or interview videos. Its construction marketing service is the ongoing program: progress aerials, timelapse and monthly social content.
How much does construction video production cost?
RAW Digital Group quotes construction video by scope: how many people speak, how many locations, whether aerials are included and how many cuts you need. Request rates on this page. Our video production cost guide lists published market ranges for comparison.
Can you add drone footage of the project?
Yes. RAW Digital Group's FAA Part 107 certified pilots can fly the same visit, including downtown sites that need FAA airspace authorization. Drone prices are published on our construction drone photography page.
Do you film outside Detroit?
Yes. RAW Digital Group films across Michigan and takes construction work in Toledo, Columbus, Cleveland and Chicago. Travel outside Metro Detroit is quoted with the project.
