We know what makes Detroiters hungry

We shoot the city’s restaurants week after week, from openings to neighborhood staples. We see every day which images make people want to go. Close-ups with texture, drinks with light coming through, a full table from above and the people behind the food tend to travel much further than empty, over-styled plates. We bring that eye to your shoot.

A shoot that respects service

Restaurant shoots fail when they fight the kitchen. We plan around your prep and service times, work from a dish-by-dish schedule and shoot plates as they come out, not after they have been sitting under lights. Most shoots happen before opening and finish before the first reservation.

One visit, every format

Your images need to work on a printed menu, a delivery app thumbnail, a Google Business Profile, an Instagram grid and a press release. We shoot and crop for all of them, and capture vertical video of pours, plating and the room while the set is already lit. Our restaurant photography guide has a full shot list and prep checklist.

More than photos

Photography is one part of filling seats. Our restaurant and hospitality marketing service adds social media and creator nights. Book a shoot.

FAQ

Questions we get asked

How much does restaurant photography cost in Detroit?
Menu refresh shoots start at $750 and full restaurant shoots covering food, interiors and team at $1,400. Adding vertical video for social starts at $2,200.
How many dishes can you shoot in a session?
A focused half-day menu shoot typically covers 10 to 15 dishes and drinks, depending on how complex each plate is and how quickly the kitchen can fire them.
Do we need a food stylist?
Most restaurant shoots do not. Your chef plates, and we handle framing, light and small touch-ups. For packaged goods, ads or complex campaigns, a professional food stylist is worth adding.
When should we schedule the shoot?
Before service, when the kitchen has time and the room is quiet. For new restaurants, shoot after the menu is final and the space is finished, ideally two to three weeks before opening.
Can we use the photos on delivery apps?
Yes. We deliver sizes and crops that fit the major delivery platforms, along with versions for your menu, website, Google Business Profile and social media.
